BMW E31 850 840 Cup Holder
The E31 cup holder is a small sprung assembly that lives in the console and is asked to move every day. Thirty years later the plastic has lost its flexibility, and the arms usually snap at the hinge or the stop rather than in the visible face.
The reproduction keeps the factory external profile so it disappears into the console, but the hinge and stop areas are rebuilt in thicker section — the failure point is reinforced rather than copied.
Why the original is unavailable
BMW no longer supplies the assembly, and used units are almost always sold already cracked at the hinge because that is where age, not abuse, breaks them.
Material and finish
Tough engineering polymer with a higher impact tolerance than the original injection-moulded plastic, so repeated opening does not fatigue the arm.

Fitment notes
- Fits E31 840 and 850 console cup-holder aperture.
- Check the console aperture edges for previous damage — a distorted aperture will hold any holder at an angle.
