A-pillar trims warp and shrink with heat, pulling away from the windscreen edge and leaving a visible gap along the top of the screen. Once shrunk, they cannot be pushed back — the material itself has moved.
Reproduced from measured originals with correct clip spacing, so the trim runs parallel with the screen edge and meets the headlining without a step.
Why the original is unavailable
BMW no longer supplies E31 pillar trim, and used sets almost always carry the same heat shrinkage that prompted the replacement.
Material and finish
Dimensionally stable polymer, chosen specifically because the failure mode of the original is thermal distortion rather than impact damage.

Fitment notes
- E31 840 and 850, supplied as specified at order.
- Reuse of brittle original clips is the most common cause of a poor fit — replace clips at installation.
